Ads in the mobile app
A mobile app is an exceptionally effective place for advertising - the user is focused on the phone screen, with no browser tabs or other distractions. The ad appears exactly when the app is actively being used.
Why do ads in an app work better than on a website?
Users have learned to ignore website ads - ad blockers, the habit of scrolling past them, and content overload all reduce effectiveness. A mobile app works differently: the user installs it deliberately and returns to it regularly. A splash ad appears every time the app is launched, a full-screen ad takes over the whole screen, and a banner stays with the user for the whole session.
On top of that, an app is a closed environment - the ad does not compete with search results or other websites. It reaches only people who have already installed the app and shown interest in what you offer.
Ad types
Horizontal banner
Displayed at the bottom of the screen or the bottom of the side menu. Stays with the user for the whole session in the app - always visible, but does not block use of the content.
Recommended size: 320x50 px or 360x50 px, menu banner: 280x80 px.
When to choose it? A banner works well for building brand awareness and long-term exposure. A good choice when you want a high number of impressions at a low cost - the user sees it repeatedly during a single session. Works best for brands whose logo and name need to be remembered.
Splash ad
Shown when the app launches, before the main content loads. The user sees it as the first thing after opening the app - at the moment of full attention.
Recommended size: 360x640 px or 1080x1920 px (HD).
When to choose it? A splash ad gives maximum visibility and attention - the user cannot scroll past it. Works well for one-off actions: a promotion, a sale, a new product, an event with a date. The number of impressions matches the number of app launches, so with active users it quickly builds up reach.
Full-screen ad
Takes up the whole screen and can be closed by the user. Appears while using the app.
Recommended size: 360x640 px or 1080x1920 px (HD).
When to choose it? A full-screen ad works well when the message needs more space than a banner, but does not need to show at launch. Good for offers with a product image, ads that need text and a button, or content meant to hold attention longer. Being closeable makes it less annoying for users compared to ads that cannot be skipped.
Native ad
Woven into the app's content instead of shown as a separate element - looks consistent with the rest of the interface.
When to choose it? When you want the least intrusive form of advertising, blending into the rest of the content instead of interrupting use of the app.
How do ad limits work?
The ad stops once the first of the set limits is reached - whichever happens first:
- Impression limit - the ad disappears once the number of impressions reaches the set value
- Click limit - the ad disappears once the set number of clicks is reached
- Duration - the ad disappears once the set number of days has passed
Each limit can be configured independently - you can set any combination or skip a given limit.
Configuration examples:
- Impressions only: 2000 impressions, no click or time limit - the ad runs until it collects 2000 impressions
- Clicks only: 100 clicks, no impression or time limit - the ad runs until it collects 100 clicks
- Time only: 14 days, no impression or click limit - the ad runs for exactly 14 days
- All three: 2000 impressions + 100 clicks + 30 days - the ad stops once the first of these limits is reached
Choosing an ad package
Ad packages in the app apply to the Mini and Standard packages, where ads are handled based on materials from the client. In the Pro and Premium packages, the app owner manages ads themselves from the panel - with no package limits.
